Four brave staff from Independent Options have done an abseil to raise money to support our services. Roo Lumb, Helen Doherty, Andrea Rowson and Heather Mackay completed the 60 metre abseil challenge at the Trafford Bell Tower in fine weather – and enjoyed their experience.Roo Lumb said: “It was a fantastic experience, I have done an abseil before but this was the longest one! The view was amazing and it was a great way to have fun while raising money for our services.”Independent Options is currently developing its community fundraising programme with the aim of raising extra money to support people with disabilities and their families. There is a focus on the Children and Family Centre, which relies on voluntary income to provide inclusive play opportunities and support for parents of children with additional needs. Money raised can help to pay for the equipment needed in the Centre and also pays for activities such as ‘singing and signing’ sensory play and training courses to support parents. If you are interested in fundraising for Independent Options we can suggest plenty of ideas and support you in your fundraising activity.
